To use WooCommerce as your eCommerce platform, you need to enable WooCommerce from the Tutor LMS Settings.
To do this, navigate to WP Admin > Tutor LMS > Settings > Monetization and select WooCommerce as your eCommerce Engine.
Note:Â Youâll need to have the WooCommerce plugin installed and activated beforehand to see the WooCommerce listed as an option on the eCommerce Engine dropdown.
Making a Course Paid
Now, itâs time to learn how you can make a course paid using WooCommerce. There are a few simple steps involved so letâs go over what they are.
Creating a Product
The first thing you need to do is create a Product with WooCommerce. You can do this from WP Admin > Products.
Click on Add New to open the Product Creation Page. Here, give the Product a title â this can be the same as the Course Name to keep things simple.
Then, in the Product Data section define the following features as theyâre listed below:
Product Type â Simple Product
Virtual â Enabled
For Tutor â Enabled
Regular Price â Set a price of your choice
You can also set a Sale Price but thatâs optional. Finally, click on Publish to save this product.
Linking a Product to a Course
Now itâs time to link our product to our Course. To do this, visit your Course in edit mode. With the WooCommerce plugin activated and enabled, a new Add Product section should appear on your Course Creation Page.
Scroll down to this section and select the option Paid. Then, from the following dropdown, select the product that you made. Next, set a Regular Price (and Sale Price if desired) if itâs not set already. Finally, click on Update (or Publish, if youâre creating the course from scratch) to finish off.
If youâre using the Pro version of Tutor LMS, youâll be able to use the Frontend Course Builder to directly make a course paid and define its price without having to create a product from the backend beforehand. This is because, from the Frontend Course Builder, paid course products are generated automatically.
Setup Payment Method
The final step in this process is setting up your payment methods. To do this, find the WooCommerce Payment Settings from WP Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Payments (tab). Here, enable and configure the preferred payment methods of your choice.
Now that thatâs done, anyone will be able to add your course to their cart or to the wishlist and buy the course anytime they want!
The Tutor LMS Quiz Builder is a powerful tool that can help you create interactive and innovative quizzes for students.
It boasts 10 modern yet familiar question types to test out the studentsâ knowledge of the course material and also offers several customization options so you can perfectly tailor the tests to suit your needs.
Quiz Info
To get started, from the course builder (either the frontend or the backend), navigate into a topic and then click on the +Quiz button.
This will open the Quiz Builder window with its very first section called Quiz Info. Here, give the quiz a Title and add a short summary to let students know what this quiz is about.
To go to the next stage, i.e. Question, simply click on the Save & Next button.
Quiz Description
Tutor LMS has WP Editor support for the Quiz Question Description field. This allows quiz creators to add rich text formatting, images, videos, and more to their quiz question descriptions.
With the WP Editor, quiz creators can now add:
Text styling like bold, italics, underlines, text color, etc
Bullet points and numbered lists
Hyperlinks
Images and videos via embed codes or URL links
Audio files like podcasts via embed codes
Later, youâll get the Answer Explanation section. Here you can provide a concise yet informative explanation to help learners understand the correct answers and the reasoning behind them.
Students can access the explanation from the Quiz Details page only after theyâve attended the quiz. Hereâs the frontend preview of the quiz explanation:
Question Types
At the Question stage, you can start adding questions to the quiz by clicking on the Add Question button. This will take you to the Question form where you must first select the Question Type.
As mentioned earlier, there are a total of 10 question types for Tutor Pro users. Below is a list of what these types are as well as an explanation of how they work.
True/False
To set up a true/false question, first select your question type as True/False. Then youâll get the option to choose the answer. Then write your question and choose the answer. Click on the radio button to choose the right answer.
Single Choice
Use the single-choice quiz format if you want to use a multiple-choice question with only one correct answer. To add the options, click on Add an Option and define the answer in the Answer Title, upload an image if needed, and select the display format of your choice.
Finally, click on Update Answer and repeat these steps for the other options. Donât forget to specify the correct answer at the end.
Multiple Choice
The multiple-choice question is almost similar to the single-choice answer. If you want to list multiple correct answers for a simple question, choose the multiple-choice option. Thus students will get full marks only if they select all of the right answers while answering the question.
Open-Ended
A long answer question type where students can give descriptive answers as this field can have a larger character limit. To define this character limit, go to Quiz Builder > Settings > Advanced Settings and find the Open-Ended/Essay questions answer character limit field.
Short Answer
A Descriptive-type question with a more precise and shorter answer. Instructors can define Character Limit> Settings > Advanced Settings under the Short answer characters limit in Quiz Builder.
Fill In The Blanks
Set a sentence prompting students to fill up the missing blanks with the correct answers.
Here first, enter the question and then click on Add an Option.
Then, type your entire question again under Question Title and replace the blanks with the variable {dash}. Below that field, define your Correct Answers each separated by a vertical bar |. Letâs check an example.
Students will see something like whatâs shown in the image above on the frontend when they take the quiz.
Matching
Use this answering category only if you want to set a question pattern where students have to match the answers. To do this, enter your question and click on Add an Option. Enter your answer prompt and its matched answer.
You can also upload an image along with the answer prompt. Finally, select the display format you prefer and repeat these steps to add more options.
Ordering
Set an ordering question where students have to reorder the given text, images, or both in the correct sequence to obtain marks.
Here, click on Add an Option and enter your first answer item under the Answer Title field. Like the previous question types, you can also upload an image to go along with this.
Repeat these steps to add more items and make sure to add them in the right order.
Image Matching
Set a matching type question where students can match an image to the correct text to obtain marks.
To implement this, enter your question, click on Add an Option and upload your image prompt, enter its matched answer and click on Update Answer. Repeat these steps to add more options.
Image Answering
Set an identification type question where students need to answer questions based on images.
Similar to Image Matching, click on Add an Option and upload your image and then enter its corresponding answer. Lastly, click on Update Answer and repeat these steps to add more options.

On the Question Form, add the question text, select the type from the dropdown, and add a description if you want. Following that, are a few settings for each question that you need to understand to best use them:

This field is available for any question type and students will be able to see it from the Quiz Details page.

This will ensure that the students complete the basic course before accessing the advanced course.
This will allow you to create a true and structured learning path for students, with different courses addressing different levels of students.
â ď¸ Note: Course Prerequisites is a Tutor LMS Pro feature, so youâll have to enable the add-on from WP Admin > Tutor LMS Pro > Add-ons to use it. For more info, visit the dedicated Course Prerequistics documentation.
Course Builder
This is the bread and butter of Tutor LMS. The hierarchy of all the content is crucial for admins and instructors to know properly.
In Tutor LMS, a Course will have Topics, and Topics will have Lessons and Quizzes. There can be multiple quizzes and lessons inside a single topic, but we highly recommend 2-5 lessons and 1 quiz for maximum effectiveness.
Add New Topic
This button will open the Add Topic window where you can give the Topic a Name and add a Summary. There are tooltips to guide you through the process.
Once you have added the required information, you can start adding lessons and quizzes using the buttons that are below the corresponding topics. You can add the following information right from your lesson page.
Lesson Name & Content
You can create lessons by clicking the + Lesson button in the topic window. Here, you can add the lesson name and describe the contents. Youâll get the WP editor to explain what the lesson will learn.

Video files (MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, MPEG, etc.)
Audio files (MP3, WAV, OGG, WMA, M4A, etc.)
Media files can be uploaded directly within the text editor interface utilizing the built-in âAdd Mediaâ button.
Furthermore, any embedded media will automatically adapt responsively when the lesson is viewed on mobile devices or varying screen sizes. Media playback is also fully supported inline on the lesson page itself for a seamless viewing and listening experience.
To add media:
1. When editing a lesson, click the âAdd Mediaâ button
2. Upload or select an audio/video file from the media library
3. The media will be inserted into the lesson description
Featured Image and Video Lessons
Scroll down the lesson page and then youâll get the featured image and video section. These settings are discussed below:
